Chazz (Fraser), Rex (Buscemi), and Pip (Sandler) are three friends who form a rock band called The Lone Rangers. Chazz constantly sneaks into the radio station to try and get their songs played, but he always fails and gets kicked out. After a big fight with his girlfriend, Chazz becomes even more determined to make their music heard. The trio has some toys and props from a previous outing, which they use when they sneak into the station again. A fight breaks out, and when Rex pulls out a toy gun, everyone thinks it's real. Chazz, Rex, and Pip end up taking the radio DJ (Joe Mantegna) and other employees hostage. As their fan base grows, the band tries to find a way to escape without harming anyone. However, one of their cassette tapes gets damaged, and they need another copy. The copy is with Chazz's ex-girlfriend, who has already thrown it away in anger. Officer Wilson (Chris Farley) tries to find it.
